Almost Cat Therapy

I was heading upstairs when I spotted a cat lounging at the corner of our balcony. I almost didn't see it. I eagerly started opening the grill window but was stopped by the locked sliding door. Where is the key??!

The cat's head perked up. I think it scented the smell of the desperate. I finally figured out the key was kept in the cupboard next to the window. The moment I turned the lock and opened it. The cat bolted and I was left with....NO CAT.

It is a sad moment. I miss my cats.

So, I finally got an upright steamer in the hopes that it will make ironing a little easier. I got it for about 60 dollars off Catch Of the Day and it won't hurt so much if it is a complete dud. I just tried it...and its not too bad. It got the wrinkles out after a few passes up and down Imyu's shirt and it is probably easier then setting up the ironing board and iron. However, if the shirt is REALLY wrinkled, it may take a while to get the wrinkles off. I think I need to get a proper stand so I can hang the shirt up and have my other hand free  to move the sleeves etc.  So, if I'm in a hurry, this is pretty good...though it did leave small wet splotches sometime. I just supposed I just have to become more skilled at using it. And yes, it does cut down on ironing time and takes up less space so I suppose it is a 'good enough' buy.

Hmm, I should try ironing some pants.....

On another note, Ziggy is most fascinated by the contraption and watch in rapt attention while I unpacked and assembled it. I don't think he know what to make of it.

Okie, the expressions of the robots on my new LJ layout kind of mirror how I have been feeling the whole week.  Shell Shocked perhaps? New job has been very interesting and challenging......though I do on some level feel jibbed by the higher ups.

But that aside, I'm doing pretty alright especially since today ...is HAPPY DAY. So ....

To everyone. Its the 16th of April and its the day we got our babies, Ziggy and Bailey. I loveeeee them so much that I have declared it HAPPY day forever more.

Butter Chicken Facts!

So, Imyu and I made Butter Chicken from scratch. It's actually not too difficult :) Before we did, we had Meela's Butter Chicken on Thursday night to remind us what we want our Butter Chicken to kind of taste like.

We used the recipe below )Well, it tasted good, looked the right colour but certainly not the Butter Chicken we were after. It had too much tomato and in the end, we decided that we will continue on our search for the RIGHT Butter Chicken recipe. We may revisit this recipe later, using a little less tomato paste or perhaps using diced tomatoes instead. We also missed out the Kasoori Methi (Fernugreek Leaves) which I couldn't find! If any one knows where to get them in Perth, I will really appreciate it!

Imyu has sourced another recipe - this time with video :P Hahaha. We will try that one next!!!!!!

SUCCESS and ...FAIL

Last weekend, Imyu and I went for a pastry class. We learnt how to make shortcrust and rough puff pastry. Also, as a result of the class, we came home with two batches of each pastry.

 Imyu made a mushroom quiche with one batch of the shortcrust pastry last week and this week, we did small little pumpkin tarlets. They don't look too fancy but they taste pretty good! I guess practice makes perfect and it will help if we had the right kind of tools (e.g. pastry cutters and a proper tart tray) We used muffin trays and it may have been a little too deep? As for the rough puff, it wasn't too big of a disaster...well, it turn out a bit too hard. Baked too long and the butter in the rough puff kinda ran off. >_< We should have popped the tray into the fridge before putting it in the oven. The rule of thumb is the colder your pastry (or the butter in your pastry), the better! We did that for the little tarts but not for the rough puff tarts because we were too eager to put it into the oven! Well, we learn from our mistakes.

I'm now off to eat the RAGU we made too. YUM......Its easy when you get the hang of it! I wish we had a bigger fridge!

I didn't mean to......but I ended up watching Episode 3 and 4 of Season 5 on TV last night. I haven't completely finished watching Season 4 and I didn't see the finale soo..really, I had NO business watching Season 5 at all. But ahhhh, I missed Dean. *huggles to Jensen Ackles* Hell, I even missed Sam - he's never been my favourite but really, his life really kinda sucks. Hehe. I have to go back and re-watch everything. I haven't quite taken to Castiel despite perseid previously raving about him...or was it nekomancy. Or maybe it was about Misha Collins? I forget.

Dean talking to future Dean was great and I miss watching him dish out his own brand of shit even if its to himself. hah. Hmm, Sam -> white suit -> not a good look. It made me uncomfortable. That's the best I can come up with. I really have to go back and watch everything.

And I miss watching Big Bang Theory. Where is Season 3?
